baker’s dozen iv

For this year’s edition of Baker’s Dozen, TAM asked 12 Curators from other art institutions to join us and select 1 artist each, from the SoCal area, who’s practice signaled something important over the previous year - whether indicative of a dynamic shift in the artist’s work, the growth of a new trend or the maturing of an artist’s practice, the show gives a broad look at emerging art in Los Angeles today from the perspective of 13 Curators. The exhibition also reflects a sub-text pertaining to and upon the decision making processes and inclinations of curators as well as the role of the institutional hierarchy in the structure of career building.
