The Torrance Art Museum is now accepting applications for NOMAD, a three-day pop-up exhibition on August 7–9, 2026.

NOMAD is a community-focused event where Southern California artists showcase recent work, connect with peers, and engage a wider audience. The exhibition highlights the region’s diverse 2D and sculptural talent and emphasizes creative exchange, collaboration, and relationship-building.

This year, NOMAD will take place at Del Amo Crossing (21535 Hawthorne Blvd, Torrance, CA 90503), an open-plan concrete-floor space in the heart of the South Bay. Over 150 artists are expected to participate. The event will also feature TRYST, an international art fair spotlighting alternative galleries and artist-run initiatives.


Applications remain open until all spots are filled—early submissions are encouraged.

How much does NOMAD Cost?
NOMAD is FREE to apply to, participate in, and attend.

Who is eligible?
Individual artists based in Southern California.

What artwork can be shown?

  • All mediums will be be considered however wall space for 2D works and power outlets for digital works are extremely limited

  • Due to limited wall space, all sculptural work must be freestanding

  • Artworks must be self-transported and fit inside the building’s main interior elevators: 98”H x 69”W x 64”D (doors: 96”H x 39”W)

  • Limit: 1 artwork per artist


NOMAD is free to apply, participate, and attend. Artists keep 100% of sales.

Will spaces be assigned?
Yes. Artist’s will be assigned a space and notified of their placement during check-in for install. While considerations will be made for size, scale, installation requirements, artists may not reserve specific walls or sections in advance.

How will artworks be installed?
Due to the large number of participants for this event, all artists must install / de-install their own work.

Do participants need to be present throughout the event?
Yes. In keeping with the events emphasis on creative exchange, collaboration, and relationship-building, participating artists must be willing and able to attend the full event.
