A Partnership Between Torrance Art Museum and Cycladic Arts
A Cross-Cultural Opportunity in Alyki, Paros, Greece

Torrance Art Museum (TAM) has partnered with Cycladic Arts in Alyki, Paros, Greece to offer a unique Artist-in-Residency program. This opportunity is open to artists based in Southern California and aims to foster meaningful cross-cultural artistic exchange.

As part of TAM’s ongoing mission to build global networks and artistic bridges, this annual program will support one artist per year for a 25-day residency on the island of Paros. At the conclusion of the residency, the resulting body of work will be featured in an online exhibition hosted on the program’s webpage.

The selected artist will have their flight and residency fees fully sponsored. Artists will be responsible for their own materials, meals, and personal expenses. Selection will be made by TAM staff.

CYCLADIC ARTS PROGRAM 2024 ARTIST RESIDENT

Kim Manfredi is an American artist who graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in 1988. She later returned to MICA, studying under the guidance of Grace Hartigan and Joyce Kozloff, and earned an MFA in painting in 2009.

Following her MFA, Kim was represented by C. Grimaldis Gallery and attended residencies at RUC, Vermont Studio Center, VCCA, and Maryland Art Place. Most recently, she is presented a solo exhibition titled Lady Lazarus at Royale Projects in Los Angeles. Kim was also recently featured in Tutto a Tempo at the Camus Museum in Breno, Italy. Kim loves her local desert community and is a founder of the annual Desert Open Studios Tour.
