The MRH Fund for Artists was established to provide artists with direct financial support to expand their creative reach through the realization of a defined art project. The artists selected each year have been nominated by invited arts organizations in the Southern California region.
The funds provide an opportunity for the artists to enhance and strengthen their creativity and expand their artistic practice in ways that would not be possible without the funds. The selected artists in the cohort represent a variety of creative media. Each nominated artist proposed a project that would further their career by connecting them with new patrons, exhibition opportunities, and their reach in the community. Throughout the year the artists meet as their projects evolved. This exhibition is a reflection of their individual art expressions informed by the cohort gatherings.
The project was established to foster more creative expression in recognizing that through the cultural arts the community is enhanced, and in supporting creativity, new ideas are imagined, cultivated, and experienced. Southern California is home to a remarkable group of dedicated creatives, and the MRH Fund works to increase visibility of artists throughout the region.
