Saturday, August 6th marks the last of three 7×7 LA summer readings at the Torrance Art Museum (TAM).

7×7 LA is a new online magazine based in Los Angeles that invites writers and visual artists to collaborate in the production of wholly original illuminated short stories and poetry. These exchanges, loosely based on the Surrealist game of “exquisite corpse,” allow collaborators to respond to one another’s ideas as they venture into new imaginative terrain. Founded by LA-based artist Axel Wilhite and writer Amy Bonnaffons in the South Bay, 7×7 LA offers a new kind of literary space, one that promotes spontaneous exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration.

In the course of this exciting multimedia reading event at TAM, several authors and artists featured in the magazine will share their hybrid work with the public. The reading begins at 6:30 PM. The event is free.

August 6th Readings will include 7×7 LA collaborations by:
Poet Henry Wudl and artist Robert Wilhite.
Artist Paulin Paris and poet Monica Wendel.
Writer Bridget Dooley and photographer Austin Irving.
Artist Malado Baldwin and writer Iver Arnegard.
