About the Artist
Erika Snow Robinson began playing bassoon at age 10, after her dad taught her to read music. “Why the bassoon?” Erika answered, “because my school had passed out the French horns and I had big hands!” Her bassoon adventures have carried her as far away as Guadalcanal via the First marine Division Band, Camp Pendleton (1991-1994), and to the Beach Cities Symphony for the past 17 years. Erika also plays with the Huntington Beach Symphony Orchestra and a local woodwind quintet, and has played tenor sax since age 12. She considers herself extremely lucky that bassoon was her first love/instrument and she’s been able to continuously play for the past 35 years.
